Opportunities for Leisure, Development, and Business

Hello,
It’s time for us to dive into the opportunities that courses, events, and other initiatives happening in Brazil and around the world bring us to develop our co-creative capacities and initiatives.
In this edition, Panorama F+ features a traveling exhibition showcasing the perspectives of those living in favelas in Brazil, an innovation and futures festival in Salvador (Bahia, Brazil), and an online course at the brazilian organization Sebrae (portuguese).
Don’t forget to play the soundtrack for this edition and enjoy the journey!
Exhibition "Favela é Giro"
Going beyond stereotypes requires listening and, equally, communication from those who live what others only speak of from afar. This is the tone I captured when learning more about the traveling exhibition “Favela é Giro.” It not only provides a space for the voices and expressions of people living in favelas in Brazil but also maps and creates connections between local actors in each region it visits.
This initiative, which goes far beyond a mere exhibition, showcases art pieces of artistis living in favela in Brazil and it includes a research component that is mapping the artists in each locality it visits. This research is conducted by invited researchers from these same areas.
Currently, as of October 31, 2024, the exhibition is at the Centro Cultural Octo Marques in Goiânia (Goiás, Brazil). Admission is free, and the last day in the city is October 2.
The curatorship is by Bruna Gregório, and the researchers involved are Xica, Ana Luzes e Brenalta MC.
The exhibition will travel to four more cities in Brazil, making a total of five stops: Vitória (ES) from November 12 to December 16, São Sebastião (SP) from January 9 to February 13, 2025, Ferraz de Vasconcelos (SP) from March 6 to April 10, and São Paulo.

Afrofuturism Festival
The fifth edition of the Afrofuturism Festival is scheduled for November 29 and 30, 2024. This festival brings together people from Brazil and around the world to discuss the intersections between Afro-Brazilian culture, creativity, and innovation. It will take place in Salvador, the capital of Bahia, the state with the highest percentage of Black people in Brazil, and a land rich in history and social movements for co-creating positive solutions.
Afrofuturism, the term that names the event, is one of the approaches within the transdisciplinary field known as Futures Studies. This approach places Black people and their ancestral wisdom and culture at the center of future visualizations. You will hear more about this here at Lab F+.

This course is suitable for those looking to start an impact business from scratch, as well as for those who wish to implement sustainable initiatives or transition from a traditional business model to one that fundamentally generates positive impacts in their reality.
The course consists of 10 modules, and registrations are open on a rolling basis. It is a self-paced course with pre-recorded materials, allowing you to set your own pace. However, it is important to pay attention to the maximum completion deadline for the course.
